Minister of Tourism and Transport Zane DeSilva today extended sincere condolences to relatives and friends of the late Arthur Wales, who tragically lost his life in a fatal road crash this past weekend.
His death marked the 11th road traffic fatality recorded on Bermuda’s roads this year.
In a statement released this morning, Mr DeSilva said: “Over this past weekend we have suffered yet another tragic death on our roads. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Arthur Wales during this difficult time.
“The Ministry of Transport and Tourism remains deeply committed to road safety in Bermuda and urges motorists to drive with caution.”
Meanwhile, the investigation into the fatal crash that occurred on Cut Road in St George’s around 6:53pm on Saturday, November 3 continues.
The driver of the truck, a 62-year-old St George’s man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and subsequently released on police bail.
