News Release: SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda – Michael Sims and Camiko Smith co-lead after posting 1-over par 72 following the first round of the 2021 local qualifier at Port Royal Golf Course. The two-day event boasts a field of twenty-three Bermudians competing for four spots representing their country in the third annual Butterfield Bermuda Championship, October 25 to 31 at Port Royal.
A brisk southwesterly wind made for challenging conditions. Amateur Will Haddrell (+5) finished solo third, four shots behind the leaders with a score of 76 and Chaka DeSilva (+6) is solo fourth with a score of 77. Nine players are at 80 or lower and remain in contention with a low round on Wednesday.

The final round starts Wednesday with tee times commencing at 8am.
