Marsh Bermuda employee, Karen Roberts-Ray, was recently named the top individual volunteer out of 30,000 global colleagues.

Ms Roberts-Ray was named as the top employee, as the Bermuda office of Marsh and Guy Carpenter was recognised for its charitable efforts in 2017 by Marsh & McLennan Companies Incorporated.

The Marsh & McLennan group recently placed Bermuda among the top three countries for colleague volunteering along with Portugal and Taiwan.

A spokesperson said Marsh and Guy Carpenter employees in Bermuda contributed 2,158 hours of their time to volunteer efforts last year, and worked with more than 30 local charities.

More than half, or 58 percent of Marsh and Guy Carpenter’s workforce in Bermuda participated.

The charities included BFAB, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Eliza DoLittle Society, St Balderick’s, the Salvation Army and Relay for Life.

Ms Roberts-Ray, was the top individual volunteer “based upon her efforts with Cats Bermuda”.

“We are delighted to have been recognised for our volunteer efforts,” said Lawrence Bird, Head of Office and Managing Director of Marsh Management, Bermuda.

“We are proud of the dedication of our Bermuda colleagues to giving back to the community and setting Bermuda apart from the rest of the Marsh & McLennan offices.

“In particular, we want to congratulate Karen Roberts-Ray for her astounding contribution and for setting an impressive example to us all.”
