More residents opted to attend the annual Non-Mariners Race by sea as opposed to land on Sunday, where makeshift crafts lined Mangrove Bay in Sandys.

The largest non-craft entered this year was the OBA Non-Forward Together entry by members of Mariners RFC. Another popular entry featured a satirical take on the recent 35th America’s Cup hosted in Bermuda’s Great Sound earlier this summer, labelled the America’s Cup Non-Boundary Painters.

On land, there were a host of vendors surrounding Mangrove Bay and at the nearby host club. Others spent the day listening to old school sounds put on by the Anchor Crew next to the Post Office at Mangrove Bay.

While the popularity of this event continues, it was clear that more residents chose to enjoy the event on the water on board pleasure crafts as opposed to watching all the sights from on land.

The event is organised by the Sandys Boat Club. Part proceeds go to local charities.
