A court appearance is expected in due course for a male motorcyclist, who was stopped by police and found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Police say the incident occurred around 10:30 am on Wednesday (Feb 17), when the rider was spotted overtaking on the left side of a line of traffic.
He was arrested and taken to the Hamilton Police Station, where ” a subsequent search revealed he had a knife with an approximately seven-inch blade in his possession”.
“When questioned, the suspect could not give a lawful reason for having the knife and was informed he could be charged for being in possession of a sharply pointed bladed article in a public place.”
The case is now bound for Magistrates’ Court.
