A 26-year-old St George’s man was jailed for nine months yesterday for a burglary that netted more than $25,000 worth of electronics from P-Tech on Reid Street in Hamilton.

Shaheed Muhammad, 26, admitted that he committed the offence on May 23 when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that Muhammad and another person made off with more than $25,000 worth of electronics and caused $11,000 worth of damage inside the store when they poured gas on the floor.

Blood droplets left at the scene led police to Muhammad, who was sentenced by Magistrate Tyrone Chin to serve nine months in prison, with two years’ probation when he gets out of jail.
