A 60-year-old American man was formally charged in Magistates’ Court on Friday (April 14) with importing more than $1 million worth of illegal drugs, including cocaine and cannabis.

Christopher Mclver, from Arizona, was charged with importing cocaine, cannabis, a substance containing THC and diamorphine, with intent to supply on November 9, 2022.

The drugs were said to have an estimated street value of $1,213,856.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson set the case down for the June arraignment session.

Mclver was released on $75,000 bail, with orders to surrender his travel documents and report to the Hamilton Police Station three times a week, until his next court appearance in the Supreme Court.
