Police have launched an investigation into an early morning stabbing incident after a man was found with multiple stab wounds at a private residence in Sandys.

The incident was initially reported as a prowler around 1.05am on Saturday.

A spokesman said “Upon arrival at the location, officers found a 39-year-old male with multiple stab wounds about the body.

“He was conscious and breathing.

“Emergency services were immediately notified. EMTs attended and conveyed the injured man via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where, at last check, he continued to receive treatment for his injuries.”

In an update issued later today, he added: “It is believed the victim may have sustained his injuries at another location and was seeking to avoid his attackers when he was seen by residents of East Shore Road who thought he was a prowler and called police.”
