A 46-year-old man was formally charged with the murder of an off-duty prison officer on Monday (Feb 7) in Magistrates’ Court.
Ajamu Hollis stands accused of killing Daemon Bell, 49, in Hamilton Parish last Wednesday.
He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence, which will go to the Supreme Court.
Lawyer Victoria Greening, who appeared for Hollis, told the court that she was instructed to ask for bail.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded the defendant in custody and adjourned the case until Tuesday (Feb 8).
