A 33-year-old St George’s man was formally charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition in Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Dion Cholmondeley was not required to enter a plea to possessing a 9mm Glock and four rounds of 9mm calibre bullets without a license in Warwick on August 15th.
The defendant and another man was arrested by police who were “conducting ongoing enquiries regarding a specific investigation” when they had cause to stop the car the two men were in, in the St Mary’s Road area of Warwick.
The indictable charges will be dealt with in the Supreme Court. Chomondeley, who was represented by lawyer Charles Richardson, was remanded in custody.
His case was set down for mention during the monthly arraignment session on October 2nd.
