Another motorist ended up in the lock up on suspicion of impaired driving following an early morning road traffic accident this morning.
Police say the two car collision occurred around 2:40am on South Road In Devonshire, between the Botanical Gardens and Tee Street.
A spokesman said: “Early information suggests that the two cars involved were being driven in opposite directions along South Road near the junction with Happy Talk Lane at the time.
“One of the drivers, said to be a 58-year-old man, sustained leg and chest injuries while the other driver, said to be a 32-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
“A medical update is anticipated in due course.
“Both vehicles were damaged and traffic diversions are in effect while the scene is being processed.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
