Lost in the Triangle (LITT) restaurant co-owner Delvin Bean, issued a big ‘thank you’ today to all Bermuda Restaurant Weeks 2019 participants for making LITT a three-peat champion for a third consecutive year.

In a statement released by the Bermuda Tourism Authority today, confirmed Lost in the Triangle “won the hearts and palates of Bermuda Restaurant Weeks diners for the third consecutive year”.

A BTA spokesman said: “The Hamilton restaurant racked up the most online votes in this year’s People’s Choice Awards, a recognition decided by people who ate out during the 2019 Bermuda Restaurant Weeks promotion between January 17 to February 3.

“The People’s Choice Awards are presented in lunch and dinner categories. Lost in the Triangle, also known as LITT, won both awards. It’s the second year in a row LITT has run the table. In 2017, LITT was awarded in the lunch category as well. That amounts to five People’s Choice Awards in three years.

“Bermuda Restaurant Weeks and the People’s Choice Awards have been big for us because they inspired new customers to find us – locals and visitors. Once they get Lost in the Triangle we deliver a quality experience and keep them coming back,” said restaurant owner Delvin Bean. Mr. Bean is also a fisherman, supplying the fresh catch that has become a popular feature of his restaurant’s menu,” he added.

When contacted by Bermuda Real this afternoon, Mr Bean, who is currently in Florida, said he was more than pleased with the final result and he thanked the many Restaurant Weeks participants who put their vote in for LITT Restaurant again this year.

He noted that while the restaurant chefs came up with the overall concepts to go with for the Bermuda-inspired cuisine dishes  this year, he said the final decision rested with him.

On that note he said the initial fish selected for the Bermudian-inspired dishes was replaced with one of his favourites, which ultimately sealed the deal for LITT Restaurant for a third consecutive year.

Asked how it feels to be declared a three-peat champion particularly at a time when his family was mourning the loss of their father, he said the victory was bittersweet because his father, the patriarch of the Bean family planted seeds that have carried his legacy into Bermuda entrepreneurship today and beyond – from humble beginnings.

Bermuda Real fans would know that we’ve been pushing the Bean brothers and their family legacy on this website from day one – just like we did when the final tally was coming in.

On hearing the BTA result, Mr Bean added: “Bermuda Restaurant Weeks and the People’s Choice Awards have been big for us because they inspired new customers to find us – locals and visitors.

“Once they get Lost in the Triangle we deliver a quality experience and keep them coming back!”

Now that it’s official – CONGRATULATIONS! And all the best to you and yours in the year ahead and here’s to many more successful home grown entrepreneurship years – STILL!
