Delvin Bean, Commercial Fisherman/LITT

Bermuda’s first ever double-header 2018 champion in Restaurant Weeks – Lost in the Triangle, also known as LITT is today urging residents to get their votes in before it all comes to a close again this year on February 3 – Sunday night.

And they are looking to top the charts again this year, following their double victory last year placing them at the top of the list for Bermuda-inspired cuisine for both lunch and dinner.

When contacted by Bermuda Real, co-owner Delvin Bean said LITT’s Bermuda-inspired dishes turned out to be a hit once again this year. The well known local commercial fisherman also urged residents to get their votes in before it all ends on Sunday.

As noted by the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA), this year local diners played “a starring role on social media”, by sharing “short short video testimonials” using #BermudaRW “to raise the profile of what locals are saying about where to eat so that visitors benefit from that insider knowledge”.

Once posted, the BTA shared “the most engaging user generated content with visitors, so they see and hear the recommendations of local residents”.

A total of 49 restaurants participated this year.

This year’s lunch menu featured a tasty Cajun Shrimp in Tomato Basil Sauce served bread as the appetizer, with Shark Steak Infused with Black Rum served with Java Rice and Steamed Broccoli as the entree. For the dinner menu – we’ll leave to you to call in and ask.

Last year, LITT became the first restaurant to win both People’s Choice Awards in the same year; after winning the People’s Choice Award for lunch in 2017.

Lunch was added to Bermuda Restaurant Weeks for the first time in 2017 and the award has been a feature since 2015.

Voting will take place online. Only restaurants featuring Bermuda-inspired dishes qualify for this award, in order to highlight the island’s food culture in the visitor experience.

This is the eighth year of Bermuda Restaurant Weeks, which takes place during the winter season “to enhance the experience of wintertime visitors. Bermuda Marathon Weekend and Bermuda Festival of Performing Arts visitors are among those who will benefit from the special dining offers over the next few weeks”.
