It’s official!

Former Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs won the nomination to stand in the next General Election in Constituency 36 Sandys North, to replace retired MP Michael Scott.

Bermuda Real understands Ms Simmons won hands down against Ellen Kate Horton, who apparently did not even get a single vote in her favour.

The party’s branch members met on Saturday. We understand that Ms Simmons secured at least 26 votes.

Initial reports indicated that Graham Maule was also in the running. As it turns out it was Ellen Kate Horton. Either way they are both out and Ms Simmons is in.

When the official announcement will be made – we shall see. But we’ll definitely keep you up to speed.
