Bermuda s own Jessica Lewis secured another victory in the 100-meter race at the Parapan Games in Chile on Saturday, taking the gold medal and setting a new Parapan record.

Entering the race as the defending gold medalist and Parapan record holder,, Lewis finished the race well ahead of the field to deliver her third consecutive gold medal win, after winning the gold in Toronto in 2015 and Lima in 2019, setting Parapan Am Games records at each event.

Lewis finished in a record time of 16.71, followed by Chelsea Qing Stein from the USA, who won silver in a time of 18.55, and Lucero Anahi Vazquez from Mexico won the bronze in a time of 18.61.

Marking Bermuda’s second medal in these Games,was Yushae DeSilva, who won a silver medal in boccia earlier this week.
