News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The Directors of WindReach have announced the appointment of James Dockeray to the Board. The charity provides therapeutic programming to enrich the quality of life for those with complex support needs.
Mr Dockeray is a Partner at EY Bermuda. He joined EY in 1999 and spent a decade with the accounting firm before moving to Colorado in 2009 with Madison Capital Management. James returned to Bermuda in 2010 with Deloitte and re-joined EY in late 2022.
Ross Webber, Deputy Chair and head of the WindReach Nominations Committee said: “I have known James professionally and personally for over 20 years. He is a perfect fit for the WindReach board as he brings an empathetic authenticity coupled with meticulous attention to detail and a tenacious work ethic. His skill sets augment and complement an already very impressive and hardworking pro-bono board.”
James commented: “This year WindReach is celebrating 50 years of providing Therapeutic Riding for the people of Bermuda. It’s a great time to join the board. The charity has demonstrated remarkable leadership over the decades and is very well regarded for its financial stewardship and commitment to sustainable programming for people with complex support needs. This is a great opportunity for me to give back to the community of Bermuda in a field that is vitally important to so many families. Like many, I have long admired the mission of WindReach and now look forward to working with the board and staff in the coming years.”
Mr Webber added: “Toward the end of 2022 we initiated a strategic review to ensure our Vision, Mission and Programmes are aligned with Purpose. James’ appointment builds on the steps we have taken to ensure our board is contemporary, professional, experienced, and appropriate. It is imperative we have a board that reflects our community and has the experience and expertise to ensure our amazing staff and volunteers have the strategic direction, support and governance to succeed in their mission critical work. As an organisation, we are committed to embracing diversity and inclusion in all forms. We demonstrate this with specific and deliberate action and not just rhetoric. We continue to refresh our board and we are always interested in people who are willing to contribute.”

The WindReach board is currently comprised as follows:
Stewart Ritchie (Chair); Ross Webber (Deputy Chair); Michelle Cardwell (Secretary); Kevin Hovi (outgoing Treasurer); James Dockeray (incoming Treasurer); Theresa Hall (Compliance Officer); Heather Bean; Lloyd Holder; Jessica Lewis, PLY; Wendy Madeiros; Paul Sullivan; Ali Watlington.
