Police have launched an investigation after a man’s body spotted floating and pulled from water off North Shore in Devonshire, around 6:40pm on Saturday (July 15).
A police spokeswoman said: “Three officers entered the water to retrieve the man and immediately commenced life-saving efforts.
“EMTs arrived a short time later and continued life saving efforts, while transporting the man to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.”
An investigation surrounding the circumstances of the man’s death is now underway.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and seen a man near or in the water, to contact police on 211 or 295-0011.
No further information would be given until the next of kin has been notified.
