Bermuda’s parliamentarians are due to debate the proposed extension to the current Public Health Emergency Act in the House of Assembly today.
The Public Health Emergency was scheduled to end on June 24.
MPs are also expected to discuss the National Pension Scheme (Occupational Pensions) Amendment Act 2021 and the Economic Substance Amendment Act 2021, tabled by Finance Minister Curtis Dickinson.
Public Works Minister Lieutenant Colonel David Burch, is expected to deliver a Ministerial Statement on the planned demolition of the historic Wantley House on Princess Street, in Hamilton.
And Minister of Labour, Jason Hayward, is expected to discuss re-employment strategies and immigration reform.
Other statements expected today, include an update by the Minister of Education, Diallo Rabain on the summer school programme and the virtual open house at the University of the West Indies. And the Minister of National Security, Renee Ming, the Minister is due to give an update on gang violence reduction efforts.
A statement by Premier David Burt, is also expected on how the island will move beyond the pandemic.
