House Speaker Dennis Lister is expected to announce an extension of the time allocated for the Joint Select Committee assigned to get to the bottom of just who gave the go-ahead for riot police to pepper spray protesters outside the House of Assembly on December 2, 2016, including senior citizens.
Also included in messages from the Upper House, will be the Speaker’s announcement of the appointment of Senator Robyn Swan to that committee, headed up by Progressive Labour Party MP Kim Swan.
The list of papers and other communications due to go before the House on Friday, include the Land Title Registration (Referral To Adjudicator) Rules 2018, to be laid for the information of the House by Public Works Minister Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch.
Premier David Burt will lead off Ministerial Statements with Updates to Bermuda’s AML/ATF Framework, with another update on the new Initial Coin Offering Regulations.
National Security Minister Wayne Caines is scheduled to update MPs on the facts and figures recorded during the first and second quarter of the year contained in the Department of Corrections Report, with another update on the Royal Bermuda Regiment – July Recruit Camp Report.
Tourism Minister Jamahl Simmons will update MPs on the 2018 Bermuda National Tourism Plan, with another update on the Scholarships and Awards 2018 by Education Minister Diallo Rabain.
Mr Rabain is also scheduled to issue a statement on Government’s Policy for Administrative Leave.
And the Minister of Public Works looks set to have the final say on Farming in Bermuda, in the wake of the lease issue resolved this week at Westover Farm.
