Health Minister Kim Wilson will host a COVID-19 technical briefing today at 4pm via Zoom.
The briefing will be aired live on the Government’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and CITV.
This after the latest COVID figures were released on Tuesday (Sept 14), reporting a record number of 412 new cases, taking the number of active cases up to 948.
There are currently 43 patients in hospital battling the highly contagious Delta variant and 10 patients in ICU.
The number of deaths recorded is now 36, following another death on Tuesday evening.
King Edward VII Memorial Hospital is now on high alert, with an appeal by the Minister for residents to take their family members out of the medical facility to free up bedspace.
The inpatient numbers at KEMH are “very concerning”, said the Minister, who be joined by Ministry of Health and hospital officials at the briefing later today, to provide further information on the current outbreak.
It was also noted that as of today (Sept 15), the Ministry of Health will increase the frequency of coronavirus statistical updates to Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
