News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the dates for Harbour Nights 2021. The annual street festival will commence on Wednesday, July 14th and run through to Wednesday, August 25th, 2021. Front Street will host Bermuda’s largest and longest running street festival, with offerings from local artisans, crafters, chefs, and entertainers.

The Mayor of Hamilton, Charles Gosling said, “I am extremely pleased that the 2021 Harbour Nights Festival will be going ahead this year. As a staple of Bermuda’s summer calendar for over 25 years, Harbour Nights is an entertainment highlight for visitors and local residents alike who delight in watching Hamilton’s streets come alive with local vendors and entertainers every Wednesday night. The City is proud to be a longstanding major sponsor and supporter of Harbour Nights, providing both in- kind and cash sponsorship.

“I would like to thank my hardworking City team – the electricians, custodians, roads crews and others – who provide this in-kind support to ensure Harbour Nights continue to be a success. The exposure that this weekly event brings to smaller entrepreneurial businesses is invaluable, providing them with crucial opportunities to showcase their wares and services.

“The knock-on effect of additional foot traffic stimulates the bottom line for our rate-paying retailers and restaurants. This is perhaps more important than ever as we reel from a difficult past few months due to COVID-19 and businesses continue to struggle; we want to ensure we support our local businesses as much as possible. I’d like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for their continued investment in Harbour Nights and all they do to better this important tourism product.”

As a lead sponsor for the festival, the Bermuda Tourism Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Charles H. Jeffers II said “After more than a year of public event restrictions, The Bermuda Tourism Authority is thrilled to support the safe return of Harbour Nights for 2021. The street festival is a favourite of locals and the perfect platform for visitors to discover Bermuda’s unique food, culture, and local arts and craft industry. We look forward to adding this fixture back on our Summer calendar.”

Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, Chief Executive Officer, Kendaree Burgess said, “We are pleased to be working hand in hand with the authorities to bring a safe event to the streets of Bermuda. We will utilize the Safekey technology to ensure the safety of our vendors and our guests. Although we are only in operation for 6 weeks this year, we are sure the event will delight both the young and old! Special thanks to all who help to make this possible, especially our two anchor sponsors, Bermuda Tourism Authority and Corporation of Hamilton.”

The Chamber invites those potential new vendors who are interested in participating in Harbour Nights to attend a new vendor information session this evening, Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 from 5:30pm to 7pm via Zoom. This meeting is specifically tailored for new and returning vendors. At this meeting interested attendees will receive information on participating in this award-winning social event.

Interested persons can register by emailing ndyer@bcc.bm. It should also be noted that vendor registration will open on Monday June 28th, 2021 and applications will be available online at www.bermudachamber.bm or collected from the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
