Following the appeal for donations to ship the remainder of hurricane relief supplies to the hurricane stricken islands of The Bahamas, the Green family has stepped in to cover the $15,000 shortfall in shipping costs.
The decision to support the cause was made after National Security Minister Wayne Caines appealed for assistance to cover the costs to send a second consignment of donated supplies to the Caribbean.
“We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity of the Green family. With their support, we are delighted to be able to support the Bahamas in their recovery from Hurricane Dorian,” said the Minister.
Speaking on behalf of the Green family, Andrew Green said: “We are pleased to be able to support the efforts of the generous Bermudian public in sending relief aid to our Bahamian friends and we are proud to be able to play our part.”
