A full week of events are planned for a very special guest who will join free masons from around the globe for the 200th annual Peppercorn Ceremony next month.
According to Past Master of #200 Lodge St George of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, Martin Weekes, the Grand Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of Scotland, Charles Iain Robert Wolrige Gordon will be here to attend the ceremony on April 20th.
This will be the first time he will visit the oldest lodge in the world outside of Scotland. Lodge St George of the Grand Lodge of Scotland was established in Bermuda in 1797.
The Peppercorn Ceremony is unique to Bermuda. The lodge, housed in the Old State House in the Town Square has paid annual rent in the form of a ceremonial peppercorn every year since 1816 for the oldest stone building in Bermuda.
