Bermuda’s Governor Rena Lalgie signed the Proclamation declaring Monday, October 18th a public holiday in honour of Flora Duffy, the island’s first Olympic gold medalist on Friday (Oct 8).

Governor Lalgie said: “It was such an honour to sign the Proclamation that declares Monday, October 18, 2021 a public holiday.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming Ms Duffy home on Monday and re-living the joy as we come together to celebrate her truly amazing accomplishments on Flora Duffy Day.”
