Government House posted a photo of Bermuda’s Governor Rena Lalgie purchasing the first poppy of 2021 from two of the island’s war veterans.

The post published online stated: “Her Excellency the Governor was pleased to support the Bermuda Legion’s annual Poppy Day appeal by purchasing the first poppy of 2021 from two of Bermuda’s war Veterans, Mrs Isobel Flood IRoyal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division) and Rev Canon Thomas Nisbett OBE (Bermuda Militia Infantry).

“Today, Wednesday, November 10, is Poppy Appeal 2021 Tag Day and the Governor encourages everyone to purchase a poppy as the funds raised will be used to provide welfare and advocacy for Bermuda’s World War 2 veterans and their widows.”
