News Release: Thursday, December 13, 2018 –  Governor, Mr John Rankin, has today announced the appointment of Major Benjamin Beasley as the new Second-in-Command of the Royal Bermuda Regiment (RBR).
 
Governor Rankin said: “I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Major Beasley as Second-in-Command of the Royal Bermuda Regiment following the recommendations of the Regiment Promotions Board.
 
“During his career to date he has served the Regiment with distinction in a number of positions, including as Adjutant and asTraining Officer. He also recently completed the UK Defence
Academy’s Advance Command and Staff Course.
 
“I look forward to working with Major Beasley in his new role. I would also take this opportunity to thank Major Warren Furbert for all his work as Second-in-Command of the Royal Bermuda Regiment
over the past seven years. He has given dedicated service to the Regiment as a full-time member of sta/ since 1984 and will continue for the time being as the Regiment’s Paymaster.”
 
Major Beasley joined the Royal Bermuda Regiment in 2011 after having previously served in the UK’s Royal Air Force. He served as Adjutant before assuming the role of Training Officer in March 2016. He has assumed the role of the Chief of Staff and Operations Officer on several occasions, most recently for the 35th America’sCup.
 
He is a Diversity and Inclusiveness Officer and an expert in Training, Discipline and Administrative policy. He has been attached to British Army Units during several exercises and performed with distinction at the UK Defence Academy’s Advanced Command and Staff Courses in 2017. He was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Bermuda in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018.
