Summer day camps run by the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation were fully booked in just one day of registration on Friday as Bermuda approaches Phase 4 of reopening the island’s economy in the wake of COVID-19.
A spokesperson said it was not unusual for the to “fill up very quickly” as “the annual programme is very popular”.
“This year, however the numbers reached capacity faster than usual,” the spokesperson added.
“Staff at the Department advised that they are currently assessing the registration submissions and if parents still have interest in enrolling their children, there is a wait list.”
Parents can send an email to sdc@gov.bm with the following information to be added to the wait list:
- The child’s name
- The child’s age
- Camp location
- Contact number
- Parent information
“The Department takes this opportunity to thank parents for their participation in, and support of this year’s Summer Day Camp programme.”
