A government spokeswoman issued a brief statement tonight confirming reports that a Cabinet Minister is currently overseas receiving medical care.
But in a two-sentence statement released shortly after 9pm tonight, she denied reports that the Minister had reportedly died, saying it is not true.
The statement: “A Cabinet Minister is overseas receiving medical care. There are rumours circulating that are untrue. At this time no further information will be provided.”
Information reaching Bermuda Real and other local news websites indicate the Minister in question, who has been named in the reports circulating islandwide, is believed to be in a Florida hospital, reportedly fighting for their life.
No further details have been released at this point in time.
