News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – “The Government intends to ensure that it attracts and nurtures the best and brightest talent that Bermuda has to offer. And I am pleased to recognize Danielle Foote as this year’s Public Service Bursary Award recipient,” said the Head of the Public Service (HoPS), Dr Derrick Binns in recognizing this year’s (2022) Bermuda Government Bursary Award recipient.

Ms Foote is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in architecture at the Savannah School of Art and Design (SCAD).

Dr Binns continued: “The Bursary Award Scheme identifies qualified individuals who will meet the future needs of Government Departments, thus ensuring a well-trained team of people to fill positions within the Public Service. Today is a day to celebrate Danielle’s hard work and success and we know that she will be a great addition to the public service. And once she’s completed her studies, we very much look forward to fully welcoming Danielle to the ranks of the service.”

The HoPS also recognized Bursary Awards students who have recently completed the programme and who are currently working in Government.

The Bursaries are awarded by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to selected applicants enrolled in courses of study at a university, college, or other training institution, to acquire professional or technical qualifications. The bursaries are valued at $20,000 per annum; not exceeding five (5) years.
