The Deputy Chairman and a lead spokesman for Preserve Marriage, Gary Simons has resigned from his post with the group that has campaigned against same-sex marriage in Bermuda.
In a statement released by Preserve Marriage yesterday, the group confirmed that they had received and accepted the resignation of their deputy chair/spokesperson.
The statement continued: “The board will continue its relentless efforts to reverse the recent court decision that allows same-sex marriages to be performed in Bermuda and plans to keep its many thousands of supporters informed of the progress of its efforts.
“Moving forward, Dr Melvyn Bassett will continue to chair the Preserve Marriage board and speak on its behalf.”
