West end residents were advised just before Christmas that garbage collection starts up again tomorrow (Dec 27) on Wednesday, instead of Monday, with more changes scheduled next week.

Garbage usually collected on Tuesday will be collected on Thursday.

Trash collected on Wednesday will be picked up on Friday, while trash usually collected on Thursday and Friday will be picked up on Saturday.

Recycling collection will remain unchanged, with West End recycling collected on December 29 and East End collection on December 30.

The New Year’s Day holiday will be observed on Monday, January 2. All waste collection will take place one day later than usually scheduled.

 The Schedule During Christmas Week:

  1. Trash that is usually collected on Monday will be collected on Wednesday.
  2. Waste that is usually collected on Tuesday will be collected on Thursday.
  3. Waste normally collected on Wednesday will be collected on Friday, and 
  4. Garbage usually collected on Thursday and Friday, will be collected on Saturday, December 31. 

Recycling collection will remain unchanged, with west-end recycling collected on Thursday, December 29 and east-end collection on Friday, December 30. 

The New Year’s holiday will be observed on Monday, January2, 2023, and waste collection that week will roll over one day. As a result, during this week:  

  1. Trash usually collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday. 
  2. Waste usually collected on Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday.
  3. Waste normally collected on Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. 
  4. Garbage usually picked up on Thursday will be collected on Friday. 
  5. Trash usually picked up on Friday will be picked up on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
