A gale warning and a small craft warning has been posted for the local area as a cold front moves across the island bringing with it showers and gusty winds throughout this evening.

Forecasters at the Bermuda Weather Service say blustery showers will follow on Wednesday as Friday becomes dry and settled as high pressure builds in from the west.

The forecast for tonight calls for a cloudy and showery evening followed by a drier night.

Winds are out of the southwest with strong to gale force gusts to gale force to storm force, especially in showers this evening, veering west-northwesterly strong whilst staying gusty overnight. The anticipated low tonight is near 17°C/62°F.

Sunny breaks with a couple of blustery showersare likely, with winds west-northwesterly strong, with gusts to gale force in showers, veering northwesterly late at night.

The forecast for Thursday calls for sSunny periods between the odd fast moving shower. Winds will be out of the northwest and moderate to strong, with gusts to gale force in and around showers, easing westerly moderate overnight.

Mostly sunny skies dominate the forecast for Friday, with clouds thickening by Friday evening when there are more rain showers predicted.
