News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – To celebrate Black History Month, the US Consulate and Bermuda National Library will host a free movie screening of ‘Just Mercy’, a story of justice and redemption based on a memoir by American Attorney Bryan Stevenson on Wednesday, February 7 at 6pm at the National Library on Queen Street in Hamilton.

The film explores a history-making battle for justice which launched Stevenson’s career in defending disadvantaged clients. In the film, Michael B Jordan plays attorney Stevenson, who travels to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or who were not afforded proper legal representation.  With the help of a local advocate, Stevenson helps Walter McMillian, played by Jamie Foxx, who had been wrongfully convicted of murder.  The event is free with limited space available.
