Two men were formally charged in Magistrates’ Court today with importing aa gun and ammunition, with another two charged with having the items without a licence.

Kenrick Christopher, 56, and Johnnie Alexander, 33, both from Grenada, were charged with importing a Glock 9mm pistol and seven rounds of ammunition into Bermuda on or around November 9.

Ramar Simmons, 32, and Terranz Smith, 55, were charged with having the same weapon and ammunition without a licence, also on November 9.

Mr Simmons, from Warwick, and Mr Smith, of no known address, were further charged with conspiring to bring a controlled drug into Bermuda and having cannabis resin with intent to supply.

The case will be dealt with in the Supreme Court, before a judge and jury, as result, none of the defendants was required to enter a plea.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson remanded Christopher and Alexander in custody until January 2, when the case will be mentioned.

Simmons and Smith were remanded in custody until tomorrow, when bail applications will be heard.
