Five days after a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on Frog Lane in Devonshire, a 28-year-old Smith’s Parish man remains in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit as the police investigation continues.

Police say the accident occurred around 10:25pm on Thursday, September 30, near the junction with Palmetto Road.

A spokesman said the rider “was understood to be travelling north along Frog Lane when he crashed into the corner of the triangular traffic island just prior to the junction and then struck the sidewalk on Palmetto Road”.

He was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department “for treatment of serious injuries, including head trauma”.

“It was later confirmed that he had been admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.

As part of this crash investigation, the scene was processed by a police Traffic Collision Investigator, as well as a detective from the Forensic Support Unit,” he added.

The most recent medical update available indicated that the injured rider’s condition in the ICU had stabilised.

Witnesses or members of the public with any information regarding this crash are encouraged to contact Constable Shem Obeius on 211, or e-mail sobeius@bps.bm, as soon as possible.”
