On Monday, June 10, members of the Fishermen’s Association of Bermuda (FAB), discussed the ramifications of the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme (BOPP) on Bermuda Real One On One.

We met at Ducking Stool Park in Pembroke overlooking the island’s North Shore to take an in-depth look at what BOPP translates into for Bermuda’s fishing industry.

Ironically, it is an industry that caters to just 20 percent of the market, on an island surrounded by water, where 80 percent of the seafood consumed here is imported.

In this report, we take a closer look at what BOPP will mean in terms of getting that Bermuda fish and lobsters out of the water and onto your plate.

This programme is also available on Bermuda Real YouTube. Also, at the end of the show, the FAB invites you to send them your views via email at fishermans.assoc.bda.instagram@gmail.com, or via any one of their social media links. We want to hear what you think about how all of this affects what you eat!
