Police today confirmed the arrest of two men stemming “from a reported home home invasion involving a firearm in the St George’s area” early Saturday morning (Dec 12).

According to the statement released this afternoon, a spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media, in which a severely injured male is being held by another male and a firearm is also seen.

“The BPS can confirm the firearm seen in this video, along with multiple rounds of ammunition have been seized by our officers. The injured male is now under arrest and warded at The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“Upon arrival by police, a second male was also arrested, given the circumstances found.

“This male, has now been released after assisting police with their enquiries into this incident.”

“The BPS urges that anyone who finds themselves in such a situation where serious violence is presented, as rare as this occurrence is, then they should act within the confines of the law to protect themselves and others by immediately contacting the police via 911, to enable an emergency response from appropriately skilled police officers.

“Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to call the main police number, 295-0011 or 211.”
