News Release: Hamilton, Bermuda – The Parliamentary Registrar is advising the public, particularly those residents in the Municipality of St. George’s that one of the candidates, Mr. MacLaren Smith has withdrawn his nomination for the upcoming extraordinary municipal election scheduled to take place today, Thursday, October 17, 2019.
This leaves only one candidate, and therefore no need to have an election.
The Returning Officers responsible for this election will declare a winner on the scheduled polling day in accordance with the Parliamentary Election Act 1978, as modified by the Municipalities (Election) Order 2011.
