The Emergency Measures Organization today confirmed extensive damage to the public access area to Elbow Beach as Hurricane Teddy batters Bermuda’s South Shore.

Inspections are currently being carried out by the Royal Bermuda Regiment.

Structural Engineers at Public Works are also putting a plan in place to replace and repair the damaged area as soon as weather conditions make it possible.

In the interim, the public is urged to stay away from the area with a reminder that the Causeway remains closed.

Movement around the island is discouraged as residents are urged to stay off our roads.
