An elderly female motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital’s Emergency Department with a serious hand injury, following a two-vehicle accident this morning (Aug 21) involving a car and a motorcycle.
Police say the accident occurred around 11:20am on Middle Road near the junction with Chapel Road in Paget.
A spokeswoman said both vehicles were believed to be travelling in opposite directions when the accident occurred.
“The elderly female motorcycle rider is said to have sustained a serious hand injury. She was conveyed to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. The female driver of the car was not reported to be injured.”
The road was closed to allow traffic accident investigators to process the scene.
Traffic diversions were put in place at the Chapel Road and Manse Road junctions.
