Police confirmed today that the driver of the car that overturned on Somerset Road in Sandys yesterday walked away with no injuries.

Police say the accident occurred around 2:50pm on Wednesday, August 7  near the junction with Cambridge Road.

A spokesman said: “It now appears that the car involved was being driven west along Somerset Road when it struck a wall and overturned in the vicinity of Somerset MarketPlace.

The driver and sole occupant, said to be a 58-year-old Sandys parish man, was not hurt but attended the hospital as a precaution.

There were traffic delays in the area for approximately an hour until the damaged car was towed away.

“Any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
