News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The Department of Public Transportation (DPT) advises that due to the closure of Middle Road in Southampton, in the area of Riviera Road and Rebecca Road, Route 8 buses will be detoured due to BELCO trench work on Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7.
Inbound and outbound Route 8 Somerset and Route 8 Dockyard buses will detour via South Shore Road between Paget stop lights and Barnes Corner.
On Saturday outbound Route 8 Barnes Corner buses will travel via Middle Road, Cedar Hill, then Middle Road Warwick as far as the former TN Tatem Middle School. They will depart TN Tatem as Route 8 Hamilton reversing the route.
Journey times on Route 8 will be affected by the detours. BELCO has advised that the road will reopen on Monday at 7am. DPT thanks the public for their continued patience.
