Work on a sidewalk that collapsed last year in August when a crane fell on the embankment below, has finally been completed.

St John’s Road near the junction of Cedar Avenue in Pembroke was closed for nine months.

Public Works Minister Lieutenant Colonel David Burch, said: “This accomplishment demonstrates our commitment to maintaining Bermuda’s infrastructure to the highest standards while ensuring the safety and convenience of all road users.”

Progress was hindered by bad weather and road excavation eventually got underway at the start of the year.

The Minister also thanked Sunrise Construction for their work and the public for their continued patience.
