The Ministry of Health reported only 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Bermuda, in the latest round of 3,548 tests, with the number of active cases now down to 59.

Only six patients are currently in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital battling the coronavirus, with only one patient in intensive care.

Three of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

The additional nine (9) new cases are classified as either local transmission (7) or under investigation (2). 

Additionally, since the last update, there have been 10 recoveries and 0 deaths.

Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 5,677 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 5,512 have recovered, and sadly 106 COVID related deaths.

The source of all active cases is as follows:

·         22 are Imported

·         31 are classified as local transmission

·         6 are Under Investigation

Active cases by vaccination status and transmission:

·         Imported cases: 91% are fully vaccinated, and 9% are not vaccinated

·         Local/Under Investigation cases: 32% are fully vaccinated, and 66% are not vaccinated

·         Of the active cases where typing is available, 100% are Delta

The source of all confirmed cases is as follows:

·         671 are Imported

·         4,995 are classified as local transmission of which:

o   3,054 are Local transmission with known contact/source and

o   1,941 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source

·         11 are Under Investigation
