A 46-year-old defence lawyer is bound for the Supreme Court to face a judge and jury of her peers on charges of stealing $86,000.
Nancy Vieira of Warwick, is further charged with dishonestly obtaining a $50,000 money transfer from Kirsten Badenduck between January 6 and July 27 in 2016 and the theft of $7,601.06 from Ms Badenduck through unauthorised debit card transactions.
Those transactions were alleged to have been made between August 1 and October 31 in 2016 and the theft of $28,615 from Ms Badenduck through unauthorised ATM withdrawals between August 1, 2015 and October 31, that same year.
Ms Viera was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offences, when she was formally charged on Wednesday.
Senior Magistrate Juan Wolffe released Ms Vieira on $25,000 bail. The case was adjourned until the next arraignment session in December in the Supreme Court.
