The Corporation of Hamilton, in consultation with the Bermuda Public Services Union and the Bermuda Industrial Union, has implemented a temporary 10 percent pay cut across the board in the organisation in a bid to remain “buoyant and agile in these ever-changing times”.
Corporation Secretary and COO, Dwayne Caines said: “The Corporation of Hamilton is committed to its staff, and our number one priority is the health and safety of our employees, as well as retaining the full workforce.
“We will remain committed to be a democratically elected, vibrant, safe and clean city, focused on economic growth and livability.”
The Corporation is projecting significant losses in its core revenue streams and is adjusting the organization accordingly by extensive cuts to the operational expenses in our 2020 budget, by postponing capital projects as well as events, to preserve finances in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
