
Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson will host a chef competition on Saturday, March 3, for local culinary students to compete to an employment contract at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
This event comes as part of a weekend of activities for Marcus at the hotel, including a Book Signing Dinner and a Competition Winter’s Dinner.
Three culinary students from Bermuda College have been selected by their teachers to compete in the exciting event, which will see one of them win a job at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
From 11am on the Saturday, the three students, Aaron Albuoy, Serena Simmons and Anthony Sousa will prepare two courses each.
These dishes will be judged by Marcus, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club General Manager, Tim Morrison, and Chef de Cuisine at Marcus’, Danai Hongwanishkul.
The exciting competition will be streamed live on @MarcusBermuda on Facebook and Instagram, with Marcus providing commentary for those watching.
He will respond to select questions and comments from viewers.
The winner of the event will not only win a coveted chef role at the resort, but will also cook alongside Marcus that night at the Competition Winner’s Dinner.
A special menu will be offered to the public at the ticketed event at Marcus’ from 7pm, with musical entertainment provided by DJ Keem.
On Friday, March 2, Marcus will be hosting a Book Signing Dinner from 6pm. Diners will be treated to dinner specials and will have an opportunity to buy Marcus’ latest book, ‘The Story of Food and Hustle in Harlem’, and to have it signed.

Tickets for the Competition Winner’s Dinner event are $75 plus gratuities and include a three-course meal.
