Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson met with an engaging group of Dellwood Middle School students on Friday (March 29), to share firsthand his experience as a top chef in the international culinary industry.

A spokesperson said: “Between selfies and taking questions, Marcus spoke inspirationally about the challenges he has faced and the joys of his career and was joined by Bermudian Sous Chef, Richard Zuill.

“This comes as part of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club’s outreach to the community to encourage young people to pursue careers in hospitality and their partnership with Dellwood Middle School.”

Mr Samuelsson, who heads up Marcus’ restaurant at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club told students of the countless opportunities the world of cooking has to offer in the hospitality industry, including travel.

He was joined at the school by Richard Zuill, a Bermudian sous chef at Marcus’ restaurant and Tim Morrison, the General Manager at Hamilton Princess.

Mr Samuelsson also appeared at a closed event at the Bermuda College today, where culinary students competed for a contract at Marcus’.
