Most of you in the know have heard or knew there was a major milestone crossed last week when Mr Brownlow Place celebrated his 104th birthday.
He was featured in a live radio interview with Inter-Island Communications’ Glenn Blakeney on Magic 102.7 to give a historical account as a Bermudian who has lived on this island for 104 years.
Mr Place’s milestone was also acknowledged by the Government of Bermuda.
This post was published on July 23, with the Minister of Community Affairs and Sports, Lovitta Foggo, that said: “We couldn’t let the day close without wishing Mr Brownlow Place a Happy 104th Birthday today!”
Minister Lovitta Foggo had an opportunity to spend some time with Mr Place today and said: “What a remarkable ocassion.
“Brownlow is one of Bermuda’s most treasured individuals.
“Everyone who knows Mr Place understands that he’s an avid cricket enthusiast and he’d be traditionally celebrating the classic this year.
“Today, we reminisced about past Cup Match classics.
“At 104-years-old, Brownlow is as spirited and as humble as ever and I was pleased to be able to spend some time with him and convey my heartfelt birthday well wishes.”
Notice, unlike the Minister Mr Place is a SOMERSET fan.
On behalf of Bermuda Real, from our house to you and yours – Happy Earth Day – Here’s to many MORE! Bless You!
