Newly appointed, CCS Group Limited (CCS) President, Lloyd Fray, encouraged students to continue their studies and pursue careers in Information Technology at a recent student networking event hosted by the Technology Leadership Forum (TLF), where Mr Fray was the keynote speaker.
TLF is a charity that was founded in 2008 with a mission of identifying and cultivating qualified Bermudians with skills in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field.
The charity is a partnership between private and public sector companies that relies heavily on ICT.
CCS has been a gold sponsor of the TLF since 2011 and has participated in its summer internship and training programs through employment and learning seminars for TLF students.
“International Business is a pillar of our Bermuda economy and technology is inherent to its success,” said Mr Fray.
“To stay competitive in the global marketplace, Bermuda needs to have a strong pool of Bermudian ICT professionals; not just to be employed by the international companies themselves but to be employed by local companies that support ICT infrastructure, such as CCS.
“Supporting organisations like TLF is imperative in building an ICT talent pool. CCS has benefited from its sponsorship of the group through hiring students such as Chris Phillips, a member of the CCS team and a graduate of the TLF program.”
Chris Phillips joined CCS as a trainee and was promoted to Account Executive in May of this year.
Chris has an Associate Degree in Computer Information Technology from Bermuda College and is affiliated with many organizations such as TLF, where he serves as an Executive Board member, Bermuda Emerging Professionals and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).
Additionally, Chris was the Pitch Tech winner for mobile application that he developed through the Enterprise Bermuda Incubator Program sponsored by BEDC.
Mr Fray added: “We are delighted to have promoted Chris to Account Executive.
“This promotion is a testament to his hard work and ICT skills. Chris’ success represents the goals of TLF and we are proud to have him as part of the CCS team.”
